DICK SEAL

Clinton “Dick” Seal, 94, of Florahome passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Haven Hospice Custead Care Center in Orange Park following an extended illness.

Clinton was born June 14, 1925, in Shumanville, Virginia. Coming from Jacksonville, he had been a resident of Putnam County for the past 44 years, first living in San Mateo and later in Florahome. Clinton served honorably in the United States Navy, during WW II on the USS Bainbridge in the Pacific theater of operations. He worked as a master carpenter in industrial and residential construction and was a member of First Baptist Church of San Mateo where he sang in the choir and helped to build the church. Clinton was a very active member of the Putnam County Shrine Club which he also helped to build. In addition, he was a member of Palatka Lodge #34, Free and Accepted Masons. Clinton enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, hunting, traveling, fishing, gardening, rock collecting, model trains, coin collecting, professional wrestling, and NASCAR.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Elizabeth “Vondia” Seal to whom he was married for 63 years; three sons, Rocky Clinton Seal, Ricky Edward Seal, and Rusty Darrell Seal; three brothers, John Seal, Winston Seal, and Herndon Seal; two sisters, Mozelle Seal and Merle Samuels; and a granddaughter, Lauren “Pookie” Seal.

Clinton is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Roxanne and Lawrence “Chip” Lee of Fleming Island; a son, Randy Wayne Seal of Starke; sixteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5th at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Pastor Shaun Thomas officiating. Masonic rites will be given by Palatka Lodge #34, F & AM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Jacksonville with military honors bestowed by the United States Navy.
