Richard Lee Haven, 73, of Crescent City passed away Monday, February 10, 2020 in Palatka following a brief illness.

Richard was born in Jacksonville and had been a winter resident of Crescent City and became a full time resident 25 years ago, coming from Williamsburg, Virginia. He excelled as a tailor and pattern designer for making 18th century clothing. Successfully operating two businesses for many years, Just Two Tailors and Tailorís Guide, supplying clothing and patterns for many Reenactors and Fife & Drum Corps across the United States and beyond. He even had his clothes appear in a few period movies. He was renowned in his craft and was considered to be preeminent as a clothing designer and tailor. He had also operated a third business with his good friend Johnathan, Two Old Men, doing minor renovations and home repairs. He was active in the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution and was a member and a past Worshipful Master of Lake Lodge #72, Free and Accepted Masons. He had shared his great knowledge of American History as a substitute teacher in Poultney, Vermont, Palatka High School, Crescent City High School, and at many reenactments and rendezvous over the years. For a time, he had also published a weekly paper on political current events, American Patriot News Local. He will be sorely missed by many of his patrons and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert F. Haven and Catherine E. Martin.

Surviving are his partner and companion, Evelyn Roberts; five children, Tracy Ann (Nick) Hinson, Robert (Jennifer) Haven, Paula (Philip) Morse, Thomas Haven, and Amy (John) Currin; seven brothers and sisters, Jeff Haven, Brian Haven, Patrick Haven, John Martin, Cheri Haven, Michele Nieberding, and Kim Blasingame; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 17th at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Chaplain Bill Allen officiating. Masonic Rites will be performed by Lake Lodge #72, Free and Accepted Masons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will follow in Palatka Memorial Gardens.
