H. Paul Shipp, 76, of Interlachen, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, after complications from a battle with Covid.
Paul was Born in Texarkana, Arkansas, and had lived and worked in machine tool sales in California before moving to Illinois to start several businesses including as a contractor for the Veterans Administration. He relocated to Interlachen in 1986 where he started and retired from Cherokee Trucking.
He enjoyed spending time with family, Ray’s games, poker with the grandchildren, fishing, and burgers at the farm. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. John the Evangelist Church in Interlachen, and volunteered in the community. He was a devoted husband and loving family man.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Camille; five daughters, Deborah, Dawn, DeAnn, Robyn, and Kristyn; son, Jonathan; two sisters, Patricia and Susan; thirteen grandchildren, Ashley, Miranda, Sydney, Anthony, Jaidyn, Kylei, Haylei, Codei, Ciara, Sophie, Jonathan, Dalton, and Logan; great granddaughter, Iris; and special friend/son, J.R. Garcia and his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rachael; father, Herbert; brothers, Gary and Ricky; and stepfather, Walter.
At his request, there will be no traditional funeral services at this time. A Catholic mass and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
