FRED L. DUNBAR, SR.

Fred Lewis Dunbar, Sr., 77, of Bannerville passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Eastman Health and Rehab in Eastman, GA following an extended illness.

Fred was born in Tampa and had been a resident of Putnam County for the past 42 years, first living briefly in San Mateo and later in Bannerville. He retired from Florida Furniture Industries in Palatka after 26 years of faithful service. He enjoyed woodworking, including making bird houses. He also enjoyed “tinkering” with cars, fishing, and assembling model cars. He had attended the Oak Hill Baptist Church in Bardin.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Warren and Beatrice Dunbar; three brothers, Charlie Dunbar, Donald Dunbar and Warren Dunbar, Jr.; and a sister, Audrey Dunbar.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Rosa Dunbar; four sons, Edward Gingras, Jr., Johnny Gingras (Tina), Frederick Beatty (Monica) and Fred Dunbar II (Rochelle); ten grandchildren, Trey Gingras, Makayla Poole, Deseray Gingras, Brittany Gingras, Tori Beatty, Willy Beatty, Fred Dunbar III, Dani Dunbar, Joshua Armstrong, and R.J. Brooks; a great grandson, Wyatt Gingras and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18th at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Pastor Alfred Johns, Jr. officiating. The family will begin receiving friends one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will follow in Etoniah Cemetery in Bardin.
