Jacquelyn Smith Warwick

Jacquelyn Smith Warwick of Palatka was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. She was born 95 years earlier on April 11, 1926, in Palatka to parents Howell Jackson Smith, Sr., and Hattie Massey Smith.

“Jackie” will be remembered by her friends and family as a devout Christ follower who loved her Savior and lived her faith by word and deed. She was a life-long member of Lemon Heights Baptist Church and served as the church’s pianist and organist for over 60 years.

She was a long-time educator who taught in Putnam County schools for 42 years. She leaves a legacy of scores of high school graduates with vocational skills to thrive in the workforce. One of her greatest joys was to successfully place students into their first employment opportunity.

Although those who knew her are greatly saddened by her loss, warm memories remain of a devoted and selfless mother and grandmother and a faithful Christian servant to whom God granted exceptional musical talent, which she used to her fullest until her last days.

Being preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jesse W. Warwick, and younger brother, Howell Jackson Smith, Jr., she is survived by a son, Jay Jackson Warwick (Carmen) and two granddaughters, Rachel Ashlyn Warwick and Sarah Lindsey Warwick.

A private family burial will be held.

Masters Funeral Home of Palatka is in charge of arrangements.
